The world's tall ships come to Harborfest in Norfolk. It takes place June 9 to 11, 2017. The festival is at Town Point Park downtown.
The Parade of Sail is noon on Friday, June 9, 2017. It will include tall ships and all kinds of other boats and ships. Some ships will be open for public tours beginning at noon on Saturday.
A Chesapeake Bay workboat parade is Saturday, June 10 at 2:30. The boats are used to harvest clams, crabs and oysters, and will be decorated for the parade. The workboats race on the Elizabeth River on Sunday, June 11 at 12:30.
The huge fireworks display is Saturday June 10, 2017 at 9:30 pm. It is one of the largest fireworks shows on the east coast.
Other attractions of Harborfest include the Virginia Wine & Craft Beer Garden, Colours Junkanoo Street Party performances, Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, Boardwalk Arcade, Moody Crewe Pirate School, and the Real Mermaids (appearing every hour throughout the weekend).
Norfolk Harborfest is the "can't miss" event of the summer. Be sure to attend.
